PRESS RELEASE - Homicide Suspect Arraigned
On September 21, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m. the Shelby Township Police Department received multiple 911 calls stating that a male was physically assaulting a female at the Meijer Gas Station, located at 15031 Hall Rd. Additional information stated that the female had been stabbed, and that the suspect had fled the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 23-year-old female, inside of the gas station with multiple lacerations. She was immediately transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Officers interviewed multiple witnesses on the scene and were able to identify the suspect as Sidney Emmanuel Davis Jr., a 25-year-old male from Utica, Michigan. Davis was located a short time later in Armada, Michigan, and was taken into custody.
The investigation revealed that this incident stemmed from a domestic violence dispute, and it was not a random act of violence.
Sidney Emmanuel Davis Jr. was arraigned on September 24, 2025, in 41-A District Court by Magistrate Christopher Alayan. Davis was denied bond.
