Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Program

The R.A.D. System of Self-Defense takes a truly holistic approach to self-defense education, supporting the necessary continuous learning in order to provide realistic options for each population as they go through life.  The program, which spans 4 3-hour days,  includes educational components comprised of lecture, discussion, and physical resistive strategies.  Due to the nature of the this training, this program is only available to female residents.

Shelby Township Police Department has 5 fully certified R.A.D. instructors. They were certified last winter, just before COVID interrupted our plans to present our very first R.A.D. training in April.  Please watch this page for info and dates for R.A.D. when we are again able to contemplate presenting it to our community safely,
