*Serial Home Invasion Arrests*
On 02/02/25, Shelby Township Police were called to the scene of a home invasion. The investigation was turned over to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). SIU began an in-depth search of RING cameras and other security video provided by residents in the area and were able to establish a description of the suspect. Detectives then learned through social media channels that this suspect was targeting Chaldean homes when the residents were out of town or attending social gatherings.
Subsequent follow up lead to the identification of two suspects. Detectives tied the male suspect to five different home invasions: 3 in Shelby Township, 1 in Sterling Heights and 1 in Clinton Township. The second identified suspect was the driver of the vehicle involved in all these incidents.
On 3/11/2025, SIU Detectives arrested both suspects, Nicholas Moncivais and Brittany Awadish, on arrest warrants. A search warrant was served on their residence where several items of clothing were found, further tying them to the multiple home invasions.
