This week we would like to introduce you to our very own Officer Weiss. Officer Weiss grew up in Lapeer and graduated from Rochester University in 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management. While she was there she also played basketball. Officer Weiss started working at Shelby Twp. Police Department as a cadet in January of 2020 then was chosen to go to Police Academy in June of 2021 where she was the class President and a squad leader. While she was a cadet she was awarded a Chief’s coin of excellence for her hard work and attention to detail. Officer Weiss has been an Officer for over a year now. She organizes “Shop with a Cop” and recently joined the Uniform Committee of the department. She hopes that one day she will become a Field Training Officer (FTO) and eventually join the Detective Bureau like her father was here at the department. Her biggest accomplishment at work has been being recognized and appreciated by the citizens of the township. Officer Weiss said “if I have the opportunity to positively impact someone’s life on a daily basis, I have done my job”. In her off time she teaches and is an Instructor at Oakland Police Academy. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends; going to church on Sunday’s, camping and being outdoors, going out boating, attending concerts and working out. Officer Weiss currently works day shift so if you get the chance to meet her, say hello!
