Meet the Officer Monday is back with Detective Haughee! Detective Haughee grew up in South Bend, Indiana and moved to Michigan where he graduated from Edwardsburg High School. He went on to attend Western Michigan University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Detective Haughee has been in police work for 13 years now. He started at Cass County Sheriff’s Office then Kalamazoo PD before working at Shelby Township PD. Now Detective Haughee has been at the Shelby Township Police Department for 6 years. During that time, he has been trained in Crash Reconstruction and a valued employee for traffic crash investigations. He is also a member of the Honor Guard and the Tactical Response Unit (TRU). Before becoming a Detective, he was also a Field Training Officer (FTO) and an Evidence Technician. One of his biggest accomplishments at work so far was working a murder 2^nd degree case from start to finish with a conviction. In Detective Haughee’s off time, he enjoys being active! He likes to run, bike, and spend time out on his boat with his beautiful wife and their two children. Their kids are 4 years old and 11 months old. They also have a 4 legged baby, a German Shepherd named Nadia, who loves boat time as well! Make sure to say hello to Detective Haughee!
