This is a very special Monday and we would like to introduce you to the newest member of the Police Department… Officer Stanley! Officer Stanley officially got sworn into the department this morning as our Community Services Unit Police Dog. He will be trained to be the comfort/therapy dog and will assist going into the schools and township events. Officer Stanley was made possible by a wonderful family, Stan and Lisa. You might know them from Lisa’s All Breed Dog & Cat Grooming on Van Dyke Ave. They donated Stanley to the department to serve and work with children. Stanley is named after their son who lost a battle to cancer. Officer Stanley is partnered up with Officer Bennett. They have already been to Peace Lutheran Church and School for their last day and the Shelby Township Fishing Derby that was on Saturday! Officer Stanley is 9 weeks old and his hobbies include playing, sleeping, chewing on shoes, cuddling up on the couch and wrestling with his other siblings at home. Officer Stanley is on Instagram so go check him out and I’m sure you will be meeting him real soon! Welcome Stanley!
