We have a very special Meet the Officer Monday for you today! No Police Department would be complete without our administrative staff, so today we would like to introduce you to Property Clerk Barth! She grew up in Midland, MI and attended H.H. Dow High School. She went on to achieve her Associates Degree in Loss Prevention/Security from Delta Community College. She continued her education at Wayne State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, graduating from Summa Cum Laude. Property Clerk Barth joined the Shelby Team in 2019 where she began to work in the Records Department. In 2020, she was promoted to Property Clerk and Detective Bureau Administrative Assistant. She is now a certified Property Specialist and one of two people in charge of the property room. Property Clerk Barth has been recognized many times for her outstanding work at the Police Department. She received Chief’s Coins of excellence in 2021 and 2022 and earlier this year she won the 2021 Non-Sworn Employee of the Year award. So I guess you could say Property Clerk Barth is basically a detective ;). Outside of work, her and her husband are empty nesters who love to spend their free time going to Detroit Tiger’s baseball games! They also like to travel and take their Jeep on adventures! Property Clerk Barth also has two grown kids who they spend a lot of time with as well. If you get the chance, make sure to say hello!
