***PRESS RELEASE – HOMICIDE SUSPECT ARRAIGNED***

On October 12, 2023, at approximately 2:47 PM, the Shelby Township Police and Fire Departments responded to the 14000 block of Stoney Brook W Drive for a deceased 79-year-old female, identified as Stella Lopiccolo Maltese. Police investigators deemed the death suspicious and worked throughout the night investigating her death. Several search warrants and interviews were conducted, leading to the arrest of Kenneth Michael McDonald, a 41-year-old male from Macomb Township, Michigan.

McDonald was the son-in-law of the victim, and he was arrested hours after the victim was discovered. He was arraigned today in 41-A District Court on the following charge:

-Homicide -Murder – 2nd Degree

McDonald was denied bond at his arraignment. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 30, 2023, at 1:30 PM.
