On 03/29/2022 at approximately 8:10am, one of our Officers was on patrol and doing a routine business check at the Meijer gas station and observed a parked, running vehicle with the driver passed out behind the wheel. After speaking with the clerk and determining the vehicle was not an employee, the Officer requested backup to investigate further. The Officer made contact with the driver and checked on his welfare. After speaking with the driver, he gained consent to search the vehicle. Inside the vehicle was a loaded handgun, cocaine, several pills and a large amount of marijuana. The 25 year old male from Shelby Twp. was arrested on several felony charges including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
