Today (12/12/20), at approximately 4:25am Shelby Twp. police officers were dispatched to the Fox Ln Apartment complex located off West Utica Rd on the report of several subjects arguing in the street. While officers were en route, the call was upgraded to shots fired after one vehicle was seen striking another. One of the two female drivers involved then reportedly pulled out a gun and shot several rounds toward the other driver. The victim then attempted to drive away before losing control and jumped a curb in the parking area and nearly striking a tree. The vehicle finally came to a stop in front of one of the apartment building where it then caught fire. Officers arrived and immediately detained all involved subjects. There were no injuries. The vehicle fire was put out and the scene secured. A gun was recovered and the suspect arrested. Officers will be in the apartment complex throughout the morning and early afternoon while completing the investigation. There is no further threat to our community. The suspect faces several felony charges, including attempted murder, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
