On 3/14/2022 at 12:02 PM, the Shelby Township Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a one car accident on N/B M-53, north of 21 Mile Rd.  Witnesses stated to police that they saw a Ford Expedition travelling Northbound on the freeway drive off the roadway and into a wooded area.  The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 47 year old female from Almont, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation.  Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Sgt.
