It’s that time of year again and Utica Community Schools start back up on Tuesday August 30^th! For us at the Shelby Twp. Police Department that means we will be out making sure children get to school safely. You will see an increase in patrol because safety is our #1 priority.  So remember school busses will be back out and we WILL be issuing tickets for traffic violations. Just a few things to remember: School busses are like traffic signals! When overhead lights are flashing yellow: Prepare to stop. When overhead lights are flashing red and the STOP sign is out: Stop. When hazard warning lights are flashing: Proceed with caution. Please watch out for children and obey the crossing guards assisting children in crossing the street. Please slow down, watch for children, and obey school busses and crossing guards or else a ticket will be issued!
