On 09/04/2021, at approximately 6:50pm, a 911 call was received from a female subject reporting that her apartment had been set on fire and that a male subject had also been shot. Officers arrived and found a male subject in a second story apartment with a gunshot wound to the back. A second victim was also found outside the building with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Witness accounts showed that the driver of silver sedan had driven passed the apartment building and had fired multiple shots at several people standing outside the apartment and those standing on a second story balcony. Both victims were immediately transported to Troy Beaumont Hospital. The female is listed in stable condition while the male is listed as critical. The investigation showed that a fire was purposely set in the hallway of the second story apartment outside one of the victim’s doors. Gunshots were then heard moments later as the driver of the sedan passed that same apartment and opened fire.
The suspect left the scene in an unknown direction, driving a Silver sedan with no listed plate. He is described as a black male, 6’01” tall, 200lbs. No clothing description available. Anyone with information on the shooting or location of the suspect is asked to contact the Shelby Township Police Department at 586 731-2121.
