The AmeriCorps Community Training (ACT) Program at Wayne State University's Center for Urban Studies is hosting an Opioid Overdose Rescue Training seminar on March 2, 2022 at 5:15 PM. This training will be done virtually via Zoom. It will be focused on Macomb County's opioid crisis, as in 2020 alone, there were 269 opioid overdose deaths in Macomb County. This training aims to save lives by teaching community members how to recognize an opioid overdose, how to administer Narcan (a life-saving opioid antidote), and how to perform hands-only CPR.
This training session is free and takes about one hour. After the training session, all participants receive a free Overdose Rescue Kit containing Narcan.
