The Bensalem Township Police Department is investigating several fraud attempts targeting residents and businesses conducting legitimate business with the Bensalem Township Building & Planning Department.

In these cases, scammers are using publicly available information to identify individuals applying for permits or handling other Township business involving fees. Victims then receive official-looking emails and invoices that appear to come from the Bensalem Township Building & Planning Department requesting payment.

One of the fraudulent email addresses being used is:  BENSALEMPA@USA.COM

This is NOT a legitimate Bensalem Township email address. Investigators have traced the activity to Nigeria.
