The Cape May Police Department is hiring for the following positions:

Parking Enforcement - There are no certificates required to apply for this position. This is an entry level position and the hourly rate for this position will be $14.00. The primary responsibility of this position is to enforce the Overtime Parking meter ordinance.

Class 1 Police Officer - For this position the applicant MUST possess a Class 1 Certificate from a New Jersey Police Academy to be eligible for this position. The hourly rate for this position will be $15 an hour.

Class 2 Police Officer - For this position the applicant MUST possess a Class 2 Certificate from a New Jersey Police Academy to be eligible for this position. The hourly rate for this position will be $20 an hour.

Full Time Police Officer - For this position the applicant MUST possess a Full Time Police Officer Certificate from a New Jersey Police Academy to be eligible for this position. We will also accept applicants that are CURRENTLY enrolled in a New Jersey Alternate Route Program. The starting salary is governed by a contractual agreement and starting pay for 2022 is $42,500.
