On Thursday, January 29, 2026, the Bensalem Township Police Department Special Investigations Unit (SIU) received information that Charles Bowers, 68, of Craig Avenue, Bensalem, was attempting to sell firearms and methamphetamine. An investigation revealed that Bowers was prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior felony convictions.
Members of the SIU arranged an undercover purchase involving two shotguns, a rifle, and methamphetamine. On Monday, February 2, 2026, an undercover officer met with Bowers at his residence on Craig Avenue, where the transaction was completed. Following the purchase, an arrest warrant was obtained charging Bowers with multiple felony offenses, including Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and related charges.
Later that day, SIU officers conducted surveillance and observed Bowers operating a red Cadillac in the 2300 block of Bristol Road. A traffic stop was initiated, and Bowers was taken into custody without incident. During a search incident to arrest, officers recovered additional suspected methamphetamine from his person.
Bowers was arraigned by District Justice Charles Jonas and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $750,000 bail.
This case remains under investigation.
