Members of the Bensalem Township Police Department, along with Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, participated in the annual Police Memorial Ceremony held outside the Township Building. The ceremony serves as a time to remember and honor the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.
Bensalem Police Officers James Armstrong and Robert Yezzi were both killed in the line of duty while serving and protecting our community. While Officer Armstrong and Officer Yezzi are honored by our department each and every day through our continued service, the annual memorial provides an opportunity to recognize their sacrifice alongside members of the Armstrong and Yezzi families, who continue to participate in the ceremony each year.
Members of the Bensalem Township Police Department also attended memorial services hosted by Bristol Township Police and Middletown Township Police and will additionally attend the countywide memorial service honoring all fallen officers throughout Bucks County, which will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
We would like to thank all active duty and retired officers for their participation in today’s ceremony. Additionally, we would like to thank Bensalem Township Council members, all elected officials and members of the community who were also in attendance.
