Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo and Director of Public Safety William McVey are proud to announce the promotion of Robert Bugsch to the position of Captain. This leadership position was re-instated after being vacant for over 25 years. Captain Bugsch has 30 years of law enforcement experience as a police officer, 23 in Bensalem and 7 in Apache Junction, Arizona. He has risen through the ranks over his career and has commanded our Professional Services Division, Motor Patrol Unit, Special Investigations Unit, and SWAT.
In addition to these duties, Captain Bugsch also helps to organize the annual Bucks County Tour of Honor for Veterans and assists with many events throughout the year to benefit the Bucks County Hero Scholarship Fund. Captain Bugsch is a proud graduate of the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety Staff and Command School in 2012 and the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police in 2021.
The Bensalem Police Department Thanks Mayor DiGirolamo and Township Council for their support of this promotion. We also thank the members of the Philadelphia Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies that attended today.
Please join us in congratulating Captain Bugsch on this achievement. Best of luck in your new position!
