On April 15, 1975 the Bensalem Township Police Department lost Officer James Armstrong who was shot and killed, while on duty, along Bristol Pike by an individual who had just committed an armed robbery in Bristol Township. Officer Armstrong’s K-9 partner was also shot but survived.
Today, we remember and honor Officer James Armstrong on the anniversary of his line-of-duty death. His courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. We stand in gratitude for his service and continue to keep his family, friends, and fellow officers in our thoughts. His sacrifice serves as a lasting reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face each day.
Officer James Armstrong was also a military Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps.
End of Watch, but never end of remembrance. We will never forget.
