Acting United States Attorney Nelson S.T. Thayer, Jr., announced that Ramiz Duka, 62, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, was sentenced today by United States District Court Judge Kelley Brisbon Hodge to six years in prison, three years of supervised release, and $6,158,686.84 in restitution for conspiring to commit the arson of a Bucks County warehouse.
On December 10, 2022, at 9:17 a.m., Newport Fire Company responded to a water flow alarm at Ebooks Web LLC, located at 1388 Bridgewater Rd in Bensalem Township. Upon arrival, it was found to be an active fire. Multiple volunteer fire companies responded to handle the two-alarm fire. A firefighter was seriously injured when he fell 25 feet from the rooftop while fighting the blaze. Thankfully, he has made a full recovery and is back working full-time.
The Bensalem Township Police Department, investigators from Bensalem Fire Rescue and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case, which Assistant United States Attorney Amanda R. Reinitz prosecuted.
