Bensalem Township Police Department and the Department of Public Safety are proud to introduce our new Drone as First Responder (DFR) program, which is a major step forward in how we serve and protect our community.

In this episode of “The Mayor’s Show,” Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, Director William McVey, and Sergeant Glenn Vandegrift discuss how this innovative program will enhance public safety across the township.

Our DFR program allows drones to respond to incidents soon after a 9-1-1 call is received, enabling drone pilots to reach the scene quickly and provide real-time intelligence for patrol officers responding to the call. This rapid-response capability is a true game-changer.  It will assist all public safety operations, help us improve decision-making, increase efficiency, and enhance safety for both our officers and the community.
