At approximately 5:30 A.M. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Bensalem Township Police along with Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department and EMS personnel, responded to Southbound Rt. 1 at Rockhill Dr. for a report of a three-vehicle crash. 

Upon arrival, officers located a 2007 Honda Fit in the Southbound lanes of Rt.1.  The vehicle had been experiencing mechanical difficulties prior to stopping on the highway. The Honda stopped in the #2 Southbound Lane of Rt. 1.  The driver of the Honda exited the vehicle. While outside the vehicle, the Honda was struck by an approaching 2022 Kia Seltos.  That impact caused the Honda to strike the driver who was outside of the vehicle.  The Honda was then struck again by an approaching 2017 Jeep Cherokee. 

The driver of the Honda has been identified as Julio Ricardo Munoz, 45, of Philadelphia, PA. Munoz, sustained fatal injuries while outside of his vehicle. The Honda was also occupied by a front seat passenger. The passenger was transported to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital for non- life threatening injuries.  This crash is under investigation and at this time, drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a factor in this crash.
