The Bensalem Police Department would like to reassure our community that we are 100% committed to keeping our schools safe. One of the many ways we accomplish this is through our School Resource Officer (SRO) program, which allows for a police officer in the high school and middle schools.

This is in response to comments made by school board members last week that may have been misleading and called into question their support of this program.  Bensalem Police remain unwavering when it comes to student and teacher safety.  Bensalem Township will continue to fund this program as we have for the past 25 years. We hope the school board understands that any cuts to this program will negatively impact school safety.
