Members of the Bensalem Township Police Department, along with Mayor DiGirolamo, attended the 45th Annual Citizen’s Crime Commission Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Luncheon.
Bensalem Police Officer John Catrombon was honored with the Bucks County Award for Bravery. Officer Catrombon received this award for his actions during a road rage incident in which a subject operating a motorcycle pointed a firearm at numerous citizens before ultimately pointing the weapon at Officer Catrombon. Officer Catrombon discharged his firearm, striking the subject before taking him into custody. Officer Catrombon’s bravery and disregard for his own personal safety resulted in the arrest of an armed and dangerous individual, with no injuries to innocent bystanders.
Officer Catrombon was among many award recipients from throughout the Delaware Valley who exemplified exceptional police service. Bensalem Police would like to congratulate all of the award recipients for their outstanding work and continued dedication to keeping our communities safe.
Fallen Delaware State Trooper Matthew Snook and Philadelphia Police Officer Andy Chan were both posthumously awarded the Presidential Award, which was accepted by members of their families. We will always remember their service, heroism, and ultimate sacrifice.
