The Bensalem Township Police Department is investigating multiple reports of vehicle thefts and attempted vehicle thefts that occurred throughout the township overnight.

During one of the attempted thefts, a resident encountered a Black male crouching next to a neighbor’s vehicle at approximately 4:15 am. As the resident approached, the male stood up and produced a firearm from his waistband. Fortunately, the male left the area without discharging the firearm, and no injuries were reported.

Bensalem Police are actively investigating this incident, along with the other reported vehicle thefts. These investigations remain ongoing, and no additional information is available for release at this time.

As always, the Bensalem Township Police Department urges residents to take precautions to protect themselves and their property. Residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked at all times and avoid leaving valuables visible inside their vehicles.

Most importantly, if you observe someone attempting to break into or steal a vehicle, DO NOT approach or confront the individual. Instead, immediately call 911 and, if it is safe to do so, continue observing the individual from a secure location without drawing attention to yourself.
