Essential Business Operations
This post is in response to questions about the operations of businesses – both essential and non-essential.
Under current guidance, businesses can operate under normal hours, which will depend on how that business would operate without the restrictions in place.
Most businesses are only allowed to operate as takeout or curbside pickup / delivery only. Some essential businesses can have in store customers. Takeout restaurants can have customers pickup inside their establishments. Most of this guidance is available at https://covid19.nj.gov/
I have also attached an open letter from my office to the business community serviced by the Cape May Police Department. This letter explains general business information and the latest executive order on non-essential business sales operations– I hope it helps.
The guidance from state and local government will change as the Governor decides to lift restrictions. The Cape May Police department will attempt to keep our community informed as much as we can through our social media and in conjunction with the Cape May Strong Initiative located on the internet at https://capemaystrong.org/
In addition, everyone can access State of New Jersey latest COVID 19 information on the internet @ https://covid19.nj.gov/
In addition, I can be reached at dfashaw@capemaycity.com
Through cooperation with each other, we can get through these difficult times and come out stronger.
Thank you
