On May 20, the Golden Police Department partnered with the Colorado State Patrol for a joint enforcement effort known as Operation Port of Entry. Over a five-hour period, officers worked together to inspect Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) and ensure compliance with state laws and safety regulations.
CMVs can pose significant safety risks to other motorists due to their size and heavy payloads. This operation was aimed at identifying and addressing violations that could endanger public safety.
As a result of the operation, more than 40 citations were issued for a range of violations, including:
-
Bypassing the required Port of Entry inspection station
-
Driving with a revoked or suspended license
-
Equipment violations such as missing mufflers, overweight loads, and bald tires
The Golden Police Department remains committed to keeping our roads safe for everyone. We thank the Colorado State Patrol for their continued partnership and support.
