Golden Police are asking for public’s help in locating 71-year-old John Cizek, who was last seen in Alamosa, Colorado, on June 12, 2016. He is the named victim in a first-degree murder case in Jefferson County. David Little was charged with his murder. Little was in custody at the Jefferson County jail where he died of an apparent suicide on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.
On June 21, 2016, David Little was arrested in Edgewater for shooting at police who were trying to arrest him on a warrant. Little was in possession of Mr. Cizek’s wallet, drivers’ license, and credit cards. He directed police to the Jefferson County Fairground’s RV park where they found Mr. Cizek’s RV. In the RV they found a significant amount of dried blood, which was confirmed to belong to Mr. Cizek and additional evidence which led police to believe that Mr. Cizek had been murdered.
Mr. Cizek had come to Colorado from California. He told friends that he was coming to Colorado to pan for gold at 10,000 feet. He left California on June 8, 2016.
