It is with a heavy heart that we announce that K9 Watson was found deceased on the afternoon of October 4, 2024. Watson was found just off the roadway of Colorado Highway 9 by his best friend and handler, Deputy Holmes. Watson was escorted to his veterinary clinic by members of the FCSO and CSP where it was determined that Watson had suffered trauma from a motor vehicle. Services for Watson will be arranged at a later date. Please keep the men and women of the FCSO, and specifically K9 Deputy Holmes in your prayers as we mourn the loss of K9 Watson.

K9 Watson, a male chocolate lab trained in narcotics detection, went missing in the early morning of 10/1/2024 from an airing break in the mountains near the 12-mile canyon area off Hwy 9. It is suspected that he was lured off the property by an animal or a person. After an extensive search utilizing foot and drones with no reported sightings, FCSO is seeking any information concerning Watson's whereabouts.
