CSOC Scholarship Awarded to Emily Schmid

On 05/17/2022 Fremont County Sheriff Allen Cooper Presented Emily Schmid of Florence with a $500 scholarship from the County Sheriffs of Colorado.  Emily is a graduate of the GOAL Academy and Pueblo Community College where she earned a combined GPA of 4.21.  Emily is currently attending Colorado State University in Ft. Collins where she is majoring in Biomedical Science with a concentration in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.  While attending PCC, Emily earned the outstanding chemistry student overall excellence award, made the dean’s list in trigonometry, and lettered in dressage riding and Honors in Phi Theta Kappa.

In addition to her academic studies, Emily is a section cellist in the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra, studies Karate, is a member of the veterinary club at CSU, and is a member of Fremont County 4H.

Emily’s ultimate goal is to become a veterinarian and start her own practice.
