Fire Ban Status

On June 26, 2012, the Board of County Commissioners voted to adopt Ordinance No. 2012-1 presented by former Sheriff Jim Beicker. The Ordinance outlines the various restrictions and exceptions of each fire ban level.

Please always check with your local fire districts, and state agencies (BLM and Forest Service), to make sure they do not have any fire ban restrictions in effect.

Always use caution while recreational cooking or burning of any sort and consider the surrounding vegetation and weather conditions.

Current Fire Ban Status

As of May 25, 2022, at 5pm, unincorporated Fremont County will be downgrading to Stage 1 Fire Restrictions at the order of Sheriff Allen Cooper. Sheriff Cooper says Fire Districts are welcome to change their fire restrictions as they wish to fit the needs of your individual districts, but Unincorporated Fremont County will be staying in Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
