The Golden Police Department is proud to unveil our new Mission, Vision, and Values.  After six months of hard work from members of the department, community, and a corporate consultant we have successfully rebranded our roadmap to the future.  It is vital for modern law enforcement agencies to be constantly mindful, vigilant, and forward looking when defining who we are, what we stand for, and where we are going. 

Mission:

To keep our community safe through strong partnerships and excellence in service

This mission drives home our obligation for crime reduction, traffic safety, and community engagement which serve as three pillars of our success.  It is our mission to ensure that our residents and those who visit our city are safeguarded from crime as much as possible.  We want everyone to be able to travel through our city safely, that our residential streets and school zones are free from dangerous drivers, and that we mitigate those driving violations that increase traffic related accidents.  Finally, we strive to engage residents and visitors to our city in a professional manner, seeking to build strong relationships and partnerships along the way. 

Vision:

To elevate public trust through accountability and equitable policing

We understand and recognize that some law enforcement events around our Nation have damaged the public trust.  While these types of events have not occurred within the City of Golden, we acknowledge that the negative acts a few bad apples can taint the law enforcement profession nation-wide.  We want our community to know that the members of the Golden Police Department are accountable for our actions while being dedicated to elevating the trust our community has with its police members. 

Some might question what the definition of equitable policing means in our vision statement.  As a result, we have defined this policing practice to help our community understand just how honored we are to serve you and what professional law enforcement looks like in our city.
