Hillsboro, NH – On July 30, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report that a vehicle had intentionally rammed another vehicle. Following the collision, the suspect allegedly threatened the victim with a knife before fleeing the scene.
Officers subsequently located the suspect vehicle at a residence on Bog Road. The suspect remained inside the residence for a short period while officers established a perimeter and attempted to make contact. The incident was resolved peacefully, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect has been identified as,
Kenneth R Coffin, age 78, of Hillsboro.
Coffin has been charged with:
Reckless Conduct (Deadly Weapon)
Attempted Second Degree Assault (Deadly Weapon)
Conduct After an Accident.
He was ordered held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending an appearance before the court. Bog Road in the area of Melody Lane was briefly closed due to the incident but has since reopened. The Hillsboro Police Department was assisted by the Antrim and Henniker Police Departments, as well as the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
