
The Hillsboro Police Department deploys K-9 teams to support patrol operations in a variety of critical areas, including narcotics detection, suspect apprehension, and locating vulnerable individuals. Both German Shepherds and Labradors are utilized for their specialized skills and reliability in the field.
Voight is the third canine partner of Sgt. Hodgen. With extensive experience in the field, Voight continues to be instrumental in executing search warrants and locating individuals. K-9 Voight started in April 2023.
Dice is a single-purpose narcotics detection Labrador received from Katalyst K9- Working Labrador Retrievers in 2022. Dice is tasked with searching for narcotics in vehicles and search warrant situations. Drug forfeiture funds will sponsor Dice in the canine unit. K-9 Dice has been assigned to Officer Gallant.

Hodgen’s second K-9, Gibbs took part in countless search operations, helping to locate missing persons and apprehend suspects. After years of dedicated service, he retired with honor.
