The Hillsboro Police Department deploys K-9 teams to support patrol operations in a variety of critical areas, including narcotics detection, suspect apprehension, and locating vulnerable individuals. Both German Shepherds and Labradors are utilized for their specialized skills and reliability in the field.

K-9 Voight

Voight is the third canine partner of Sgt. Hodgen. With extensive experience in the field, Voight continues to be instrumental in executing search warrants and locating individuals. K-9 Voight started in April 2023.

K-9 Dice

Dice is a single-purpose narcotics detection Labrador received from Katalyst K9- Working Labrador Retrievers in 2022. Dice is tasked with searching for narcotics in vehicles and search warrant situations. Drug forfeiture funds will sponsor Dice in the canine unit. K-9 Dice has been assigned to Officer Gallant.

From 2009 to 2015, K-9 Fanto wasn’t just a working dog—he was a protector, a partner, and a quiet hero in our community. Whether he was helping find someone who had gone missing or taking dangerous drugs off our streets, Fanto showed up with unwavering courage and loyalty.
