**News Release**
Hillsboro, NH - On March 4, 2026, at approximately 4:16 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a 911 call reporting that two individuals had been stabbed at a residence located at 81 Preston Street in Hillsboro.
Officers responded to the scene and located two victims in the driveway suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. Officers immediately provided life-saving measures to both victims. Both individuals were transported to Concord Hospital, where they underwent surgery. At the time of this press release, both victims remain in critical condition.
The suspect subsequently barricaded himself inside the residence. Assistance was requested from the New Hampshire State Police SWAT. As a result of the incident, the surrounding area was placed in a lockdown, and multiple roadways were closed for public safety.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., the suspect was taken into custody by NHSP SWAT. He was ultimately transported to a hospital with various injuries.
The suspect has been identified as Jeremy Belida, age 38, of Hillsboro.
Belida is expected to be arraigned on March 5, 2026. He is charged with the following offenses:
The Hillsboro Police Department was assisted by the New Hampshire State Police, Antrim Police Department, Greenfield Police Department, Bennington Police Department, Henniker Police Department, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, the Hillsboro Fire Department’s brave involvement greatly aided efforts to resolve the situation safely.
