Hillsboro Officer Spikes Fleeing Vehicle

Pursuit in Deering Comes to an End

   -  On February 12, 2023, a Hillsboro Police detective deployed a tire deflation device called stop sticks during a pursuit that spanned multiple towns. Although this aided in slowing the already slow-speed pursuit, only a few miles later the defendant was able to strike a Weare Police cruiser with his pickup truck causing damage to the cruiser. 

Multiple Hillsboro Officers then positioned their cruisers in a manner to safely conclude the pursuit, bringing the menacing chase to an end. The suspect was untimely transported to the Hillsboro Police Department for booking with charges from the towns of Deering and Weare. He was later brought to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections to await his appearance before the court.
