Hillsboro, NH - On April 16, 2026, a joint operation involving the Hillsboro, Antrim, and Henniker Police Departments resulted in a high-risk motor vehicle stop on Henniker Street. The stop was based on an active arrest warrant for Brandon Garland, age 39, of Hillsboro.
During the encounter, Garland exited the vehicle as directed and walked backward with his hands raised. He then abruptly reached toward his waistband, turned, and extended his hands toward officers in a manner consistent with drawing a weapon. As a result, K9 Voight was immediately deployed and successfully subdued Garland.
Garland was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the incident and was subsequently held on preventative detention.
A search warrant executed on Garland’s motor vehicle revealed numerous packages of controlled substances, including suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and prescription medications. Garland is currently being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending arraignment.
We thank the assisting agencies for their support during this operation.
