Scam Alert: Phone Calls Claiming Unpaid Court Fines

The Hillsboro Police Department has been made aware of a phone scam targeting local residents.

In this scam, individuals are receiving calls from someone identifying themselves as "Chief Parsons" or “Sgt. Connolly,” claiming that the recipient has failed to pay court fines. The caller then attempts to obtain personal or financial information from the victim.

At no time will the Hillsboro Police Department contact you by phone to demand payment of fines.

If you receive a call of this nature, do not provide any information. Hang up immediately and report the incident. (603) 464-5512.
