Hillsboro, NH – Hillsboro Police officers obtained a misdemeanor arrest warrant for Matthew Dillon, 42, of Hillsboro, on charges of criminal threatening. Officers had been alerted to posts made by Dillon indicating his intent to shoot one of our officers. He had been previously arrested on Saturday for traffic and drug-related offenses.
Given the serious nature of these threats, officers from Hillsboro, Antrim, and Henniker, along with Hillsboro’s K9 unit, surrounded Dillon’s camper, located in the downtown area, to execute the warrant. Despite repeated announcements instructing him to exit the camper, Dillon refused to comply.
After approximately 30 minutes, Dillon surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.
Dillon now faces charges of Criminal Threatening, Breach of Bail, and Resisting Arrest. Dillion was held pending a court appearance on Tueday at 2:00 pm.
The police department extends its gratitude to those residents for promptly alerting us to this matter.
