On September 27th, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., while on call for the Town of Deering, Hillsboro Police, assisted by the Antrim Police, responded to a 911 hang-up call at a residence in Deering. An investigation revealed that there had been an argument that turned physical, where the defendant stabbed the victim multiple times, causing lacerations to his head and extremities. The victim was transported to the hospital by the Weare Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The defendant was arrested and transported to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending her appearance before the court. The defendant has been identified as Kellie Cavagnaro, age 40. Cavagnaro was charged with 1st Degree Assault with a deadly weapon and 2nd Degree Assault - Domestic Violence.
