Patrol Lieutenant Matt Hammer

The Patrol Division of the Moffat County Sheriff's Office is comprised of two sergeants and eight deputies. Two of these deputies also function as Field Training Officers. The primary function of the patrol division is the enforcement of federal, state, and local laws, as well as the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes in unincorporated Moffat County.  

We are continuously available to:

• Detect, apprehend, and process persons involved in criminal activity
• Respond to calls for service
• Deter criminal activity
• Ensure safe and expeditious movement of traffic
• Protect property; Recover and return lost or stolen property
• Provide follow-up investigation of offenses when required
• Identify and help mitigate hazards to the safety of the community
