K9 Program

The Moffat County Sheriff's Office K9 program was started by Retired Sgt. Courtland Folks in 2004. Sgt. Folk and his first K9 Czar, seen above, were part of defining case law in Colorado when the Colorado Supreme Court held that a K9 sniff of a lawfully seized vehicle was not a violation of the Colorado Constitution. Today Sgt. Nate Baker and K9 Odin, seen below, are the sole members of the sheriff's office K9 program. K9 Odin is trained in the detection of illegal drugs.
