The Humble Police Department Communications Division is the first point of contact for citizens in need of Police, Fire, or EMS services. Telecommunicators answer all incoming 9-1-1 emergency calls and non-emergency administrative calls within the department, dispatching the appropriate Police, Fire, or EMS personnel for response, while updating and relaying information to emergency personnel via radio and the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Telecommunicators (Dispatchers) within the Communications Center are licensed through TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement) as well as certified in Emergency Police Dispatch, Emergency Medical Dispatch, and Emergency Fire Dispatch through IAED (International Academy of Emergency Dispatch).
