As a midsize law enforcement agency with approximately 100 employees, including nearly 70 sworn officers, we are committed to providing professional, responsive, and compassionate police services. Every member of our department plays a vital role in our mission to protect life, preserve peace, and build lasting partnerships with the community we serve.

Our department embraces innovation by utilizing the latest law enforcement technology to enhance public safety and improve operational efficiency. From advanced investigative tools to our unmanned aerial systems (drones), we continually seek modern solutions that help our officers respond more effectively, investigate incidents thoroughly, and keep both our community and our personnel safe.

We are proud to be an accredited agency through the Texas Police Chiefs Association Accreditation Program. This distinction reflects our commitment to professionalism, accountability, transparency, and adherence to the highest standards in law enforcement. Accreditation is more than a recognition—it is a promise to our community that we are dedicated to continuous improvement and excellence in policing.

Community partnerships remain at the heart of everything we do. Our Citizens on Patrol program provides an invaluable volunteer presence throughout our city, enhancing visibility, assisting with community events, and serving as an additional set of observant eyes that help deter crime. These volunteers exemplify the strong relationship between our department and the citizens we are honored to serve.

Our specialized divisions work together to provide comprehensive public safety services. The Traffic Division is dedicated to promoting roadway safety through proactive traffic enforcement, thorough investigation of serious and fatal crashes, and a strong commitment to intoxicated driver enforcement. The Criminal Investigations Division consists of highly skilled detectives, crime scene investigators, and a state-of-the-art Real-Time Crime Center that leverages technology and intelligence to support investigations and improve response capabilities.

Behind the scenes, our Jail Division and Communications Center serve as the backbone of our daily operations. Our detention officers ensure the safe and professional management of individuals in our custody, while our dispatchers are the critical first point of contact during emergencies. Their professionalism, dedication, and calm decision-making provide our officers with the information and support they need to respond effectively to every call for service.

Our success would not be possible without the outstanding support of our Mayor and City Council. Their commitment to public safety allows us to invest in our personnel, technology, equipment, and training so we can continue providing exceptional service to our community.
