My name is Chief Dan Zientek of the Humble Police Department. On behalf of the men and women who serve alongside me, thank you for taking the time to learn about our department.
Our agency has 100 dedicated employees serving this community. Although we are a midsize department, we operate as one of the most technologically advanced law enforcement agencies in the nation. By following the best practices and innovations recommended by the Police Executive Research Forum, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Texas Police Chiefs Association, we stay proactive while making efficient use of our resources and personnel.
Our Citizens on Patrol division plays an active role in keeping extra eyes on our streets. Our traffic division receives extensive annual training in intoxication enforcement and accident reconstruction from nationally renowned instructors at our regional training facility. This training supplements the patrol division and strengthens our ability to keep our roads safe.
Our Criminal Investigation Division includes Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and our Real-Time Crime Center. Together, they use advanced technology to identify and apprehend offenders, deliver justice for victims, and reduce crime, ensuring Humble remains a safe place to live and visit.
We also lead in technology-driven policing. Our Drone First Responder program, in-car and body-worn cameras, license plate readers, gunshot detection, and citywide video cameras provide real-time information to officers, supervisors, dispatchers, and the crime center. Our advanced 911 system allows officers to hear calls as they come into dispatch, even before they are broadcast, improving response times.
Our jail and records divisions relieve officers and dispatchers of administrative burdens, allowing them to focus on protecting and assisting our community.
I am proud to lead an amazing team of men and women dedicated to the safety and well-being of Humble. With the support of our mayor and city council, we continue to advance as leaders in law enforcement.
Because of our location near Bush Intercontinental Airport, we regularly welcome law enforcement professionals from across the country who come to collaborate and learn from the cutting-edge technology we use to fight crime.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. Together, we will keep Humble a safe, strong, and thriving community.
