Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi announces that 54-year-old Thomas Case was sentenced today in Dutchess County Court following his conviction for Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class B Violent Felony, in connection with the October 2024 shooting death of 20-year-old Anthony Cuozzo. Case was sentenced to 20 years incarceration and 5 years of post release supervision.

District Attorney Anthony Parisi said, “Today’s sentence holds Thomas Case accountable for taking the life of a young man, Anthony Cuozzo. Anthony’s family has endured an unimaginable loss, and no sentence can restore what was taken from them. We hope, however, that today’s outcome provides some measure of justice and brings a degree of finality after a long and difficult process. I commend the jury for their service throughout this difficult trial, and I also commend the New York State Police and our prosecution team for their tireless work, professionalism, and determination to ensure that Anthony’s death was met with accountability.”
