Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi announced today that John Spiegel Jr., 35, was found guilty of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree, a Class E Felony, and Driving While Intoxicated with Two Previous Convictions of Designated Offenses Within 10 Years, a Class D Felony, following a jury trial.
District Attorney Anthony Parisi said, “Driving while intoxicated is not a victimless crime, it is a reckless choice that can have devastating and irreversible consequences. Mr. Spiegel had been convicted of impaired driving offenses before, had lost his privilege to drive, and yet once again chose to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. That repeated disregard for the law and the safety of others is precisely why we aggressively prosecute repeat DWI offenders."
