Who Are Those Invaders!

You, like the chief, might have noticed a couple "foreign" police cars commuting in and out of Keenesburg. It's not unusual to see a Lochbuie or Hudson patrol car in town, following up one one of their cases or backing up KPD. And of course we see Adams and Weld Counties along with Colorado State Patrol here almost every day. But these two cars are Carlsbad cars with red letter cautions that the cars are carrying K9 companions and they bear New Mexico plates.

The Carlsbad Police officers, very friendly men, are living in Keenesburg for a few weeks while they and their K9 partners attend school nearby. If you see them (they visit Market Street Mart some mornings), give them a hearty Keenesburg welcome. Even though they have no enforcement authority, having extra marked cars in town will certainly have a deterrent effect on any would be criminals. And who doesn't welcome crime deterrence no matter how it comes packaged!
