Chief's Message

Office of the Chief

Welcome to the Keenesburg Police Department. The Police Department was founded in late 2021 and will begin full-service policing in 2022. In the meantime, Lochbuie Police Department will continue to provide policing operations for the town.

As the town undertakes the Herculean task of creating a police department from the ground up, I want to assure citizens that the police department we create together is one that will reflect the community’s values and represent the people of Keenesburg. I encourage every citizen to get to know the police department and to be engaged in its operation. Use these pages to learn about the department, interact with your police officers and stay updated on information important to your community. Download the Crimewatch app to get real-time alerts when the Department has urgent messages or other community-interest information to share.

In Keenesburg, policing is done with the community, not to the community. Your voice matters. We are your partner in the community; we are not an occupying force. We will grow as the community grows and are committed continual improvement. To achieve constant improvement, we need to hear your feedback, good or bad, to help us measure our progress. We hope our service exceeds your expectations. Feel free to reach out to me when you have comments or concerns, or even just to visit. Come see me at Town Hall, call me on the phone, or send me an email.

PS The Hudson Police Department also has a Crimewatch portal. Although Keenesburg and Hudson are separate, distinct communities with finite boundaries, crime doesn’t honor jurisdictional borders. Feel free to follow Hudson Police Department too. Information they post may be helpful to you and me and our crime prevention efforts right here in Keenesburg.  For as Publilius Syrus wrote: Where there is unity there is always victory. Together we can defeat crime and preserve the life quality we cherish so deeply.
