Officers from Keenesburg and Lochbuie responded to the 1-99 block of Dickson St. on the report of a “Male with an axe going crazy.” He was breaking windows and yelling; he appeared to be having a mental health episode. The man was confronted and physically fought police before being taken into custody. He also damaged a door on one of the Keenesburg Police cars. He was transported to jail on various charges.
The civilian, NON LAW ENFORCEMENT, group Colorado Ped Patrol (CPP) came to our town to the 300 block of Evans Ave. to confront the subject of one of their “investigations." Keenesburg officers responded. Subject was not investigated or taken into custody due to lack of evidence and an inadequate investigation done by civilian group that does not add up to probable cause. Officer took relevant information from CPP and cleared the scene.
Medical personnel responded to Kum & Go on a report of gasoline splashing into a child’s eye. There were no serious injuries. Medical personnel treated injuries on scene.
Male party arrived to municipal court for a code violation. While he was there, it was discovered that he had two outstanding arrest warrants. He was arrested on scene and taken to jail.
Officers from Weld County and Keenesburg PD responded to a call of a felony menacing/ road rage incident. A female caller stated that a female driver in another car was waving a gun at people and “road raging”. The suspect exited into Keenesburg toward the Kum & Go, but officers were not able to find the suspect. The vehicle/driver information was given to Weld County Sheriff’s Office, in whose jurisdiction the incident occurred, for them to investigate.
SRO responded to a welfare of a child when they couldn’t be found by parents. The child got on the bus without parent knowledge. The child was located and returned to her parents.
Our SRO responded to a call where a student said they were assaulted by another student at the bus stop. It was discovered that the incident occurred at a Lochbuie bus stop. A report was made and Lochbuie PD took over the investigation and charges.
